Unipart raises over £2000 for Children in Need 2013!

Colleagues at Unipart House baked, sold and ate a mountain of cakes all for a great cause…and raised over £1000 into the bargain.

And Unipart Group have generously matched this phenomenal fundraising effort by adding another £1000 to this UK based charity!

A team of Unipart employees presented the cheque at the event in Oxford’s city centre.

Children in Need aims to make sure that every child in the UK has a childhood that is safe, happy and secure and allows them to reach their potential.

This year, in support of Children in Need, The Rickshaw Challenge visited Oxford, home to Unipart Group’s head office, and our fundraising team was cheering them on as they came into the city.

For the first time, riders pedalled around the clock to cover 700 miles raising money for disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. Oxford was the penultimate stopping point on Day 7 of this fantastic challenge.

Team Rickshaw was made up of five young people, each supported by projects funded by BBC Children in Need, who were riding with partners including The One Show’s Alex Jones.

Four of the riders were partnered with a parent. Rickshaw veteran Matt Baker also supported the ride, acting as a mentor and cycling alongside the riders on their eight-day relay journey across the UK. As those who have benefited from the charity’s work first hand, the young riders were undertaking the challenge to raise as much money as possible to help other young people across the country.
